Ignition Service and Repair

Ignition service and repair need specialists with the tools to properly diagnose a problem. The ignition system is what provides the spark to get the engine started and running. So, if there is a fault in the ignition system, engine performance will greatly suffer. Modern vehicles have fully electronic ignition systems, making them last much longer.

Ignition System Components

  • The Ignition Control Module – this “smart” component uses information from sensors, such as the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor, to know when to ignite the spark plugs with the ignition coils
  • Ignition Coils – these components convert low energy voltage into higher energy sparks
  • Spark Plugs – you can read more about them here.

There are other components that make up the entire ignition system. At Alpharetta Motor Sports, our ASE certified service mechanics have the tools to correctly inspect, diagnose and conduct ignition service and repair on your vehicle.
