Spark Plug Replacement

The spark plug is a vital part of the ignition system. Without a spark to ignite the gas/air mixture, there would be no combustion to move the cylinders. Usually, ever cylinder has one spark plug, so if there is a faulty one, there should be a noticeable difference.

What to Look For

  • Check Engine light is on – faulty spark plugs cause the engine misfire, which results in the check engine to illuminate.
  • The engine feels different – if the spark plugs are not firing correctly, they could cause the engine to excessively vibrate, especially when in idle mode.
  • It takes longer to accelerate – if the cylinders are not moving like they are supposed to, then you will get weaker acceleration.
  • The car is taking too long to start – this is the most obvious one, but if your car is not starting up as quickly as it should, then your spark plugs could be the problem.

Checking the spark plugs should be part of any maintenance routine, but if you experience any of the above symptoms, then you should schedule an appointment with Alpharetta Motor Sports. Let our ASE certified service mechanics inspect, diagnose and repair any spark plug issue you may be having.
